We don’t have much longer to wait for the first Jordan 2 release of the year, only a few days actually. It’s also very interesting to see Jordan Brand continue its relentless tributes to Spike Lee and “Do the Right Thing.” Not to say that the tributes are unwarranted, the role the film and its maker played in cementing Jordan Brand into pop culture as the go to brand in footwear cannot be understated. There is also something to be said about the way in which Radio Raheem meets his death, is Jordan Brand making a statement about Police Brutality? It might just be coincidence, but it’s enough to make me think.
The Jordan 2 “Radio Raheem” takes design cues from one of the more quirky characters in the movie, that would never be seen without his boom box. A Tumbled Black Leather upper is accented by pops of Atomic Orange, Photo Blue and Pink Fire. Whatever the deeper meaning of this release is, the shoe itself is a great looking new colorway. Check out these new exclusive pics, I have a feeling a lot of minds might be changed once people have them in hand, the tumbled Leather looks plush as ever. Are these on your cop list for this weekend?
